Marie L. Mallet is currently a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Researcher at COMPAS, University of Oxford. Marie earned her doctorate at Paris Sorbonne in 2013. Her dissertation qualitatively and comparatively analyzed Latino political participation in Boston, Los Angeles, and Miami.
Marie joined the C-MISE team in 2020 and has been working with co-PI Nicola Delvino and Sarah Spencer.
Prior to joining COMPAS, Marie spent three years in residence at Harvard University as a Fulbright Scholar and a postdoctoral researcher in the sociology department. She has won funding from various American Institutions such as the University of California at Berkeley, Stanford University, Cornell University, as well as several European fellowships, notably a Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND, a EURIAS fellowship, and an MSCA Individual fellowship.
Her research interests include immigrants’ integration into the host society through access to and use of social services. She is particularly interested in Latin American immigrants in the United States and the European Union, as well as irregular and other vulnerable migrant groups. Her work has been published in Latino Studies, Hispanic Journal of Behavioral Sciences, California Journal of Politics and Policy, American Behavioral Scientist, the Swiss Journal of Sociology, New Media & Society, and Social Policy Review among others.
